MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (FALCON 9 STRUCTURES INTEGRATION)

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for the build and inspection process for the structural assembly and integration of the Falcon Launch Vehicle

  • Develop, qualify, and refine manufacturing processes to meet all design and business requirements including safety, quality, efficiency and delivery

  • Collaborate with other Engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve large-scale production challenges

  • Work with Design Engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and implementation in a rapidly-evolving production environment

  • Resolve product non-conformances and collaborate with the Quality team to implement root cause corrective actions

  • Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to the meet volume production demand


Job Requirements:
achelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or Industrial Engineering
  • 1+ year of professional engineering experience in manufacturing (internships included)


  • PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


    • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or Industrial Engineering

    • Involvement in a professional engineering society OR collegiate design project

    • Experience with the build, assembly, or integration of large mechanical assemblies

    • Knowledge of metallic manufacturing techniques, processes, and equipment related to fastening, drilling, bonding and automation

    • Mechanical component and/or tooling design and analysis (3D computer-aided design)

    • Experience with process development from RND to high-volume manufacturing

    • Experience writing work instructions and procedures for critical aerospace parts

    • Experience in a production environment within the aerospace industry
