Description:We are Lockheed Martin

The story of aviation has always been the story of people who have the perseverance to fail, to try again, and to one day succeed. Since Lockheed Martin’s inception and continuing today, the passion to advance aeronautical design and help our customers achieve mission results has been ingrained in our culture. We recognize the diverse talents and experiences of our team members, and we celebrate the unique contributions each individual brings to the table. It is that collective passion, combined with a strategic focus on ever-changing global opportunities, that shapes our path forward. Join us as we continue to innovate, inspire, and make history in the world of aerospace and defense.

As a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer for the F-35 Lightning II Center Wing Production Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in driving operational efficiency and guiding a major segment of the build process. You will use your deep manufacturing engineering knowledge to influence production operations, beyond floor support, by actively shaping and improving the production system, as well as mentoring and developing other engineers.

What You Will Be Doing
• Production Floor Support: Provide real-time floor support to quickly resolve production constraints and ensure continuous product flow.
• Corrective Action Development: Design and implement corrective actions aimed at improving the production system, focusing on reducing Scrap, Rework, and Repair (SRR) rates, as well as Hours Per Unit (HPU).
• Manufacturing Plan Updates: Revise and enhance the Manufacturing Plan to incorporate new technologies and prevent defects.
• Engineering Change Evaluations: Conduct manufacturing evaluations of engineering changes, ensuring that modifications align with production capabilities.
• Technical Production Support: Offer technical support to Production Operations, including mechanics and other key personnel, to maintain smooth product flow and operations.
• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Lead efforts to create product span and cost-reduction initiatives to streamline production and increase profitability.
• Standard Manufacturing Engineering Duties: Engage in key tasks such as Tool Trial Runs, Work-Around Plans, and Supplemental Tool Design to support and optimize the manufacturing process.
Collaboration

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Production Operations Leaders, Quality Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Operations Technology, and Production Control, to eliminate repetitive nonconformance costs, reduce recurring touch labor, and remove schedule barriers.
This is a leadership role that not only demands hands-on problem-solving but also requires strategic thinking to improve the overall production system. Youll influence key aspects of the manufacturing process while developing the talents and expertise of others.
