About This Role

We believe people should love what they do – in this
role, you will be responsible for:

 
  • Reviews engineering
    designs to provide tooling, equipment, operation sequence, and other
    technical wherewithal to enable marine craft and land vehicles to be
    manufactured profitably.
  • Seeks alternative
    manufacturing strategies to reduce production costs, increase output, or
    improve product quality.
  • Analyzes engineering
    design to provide feedback to improve manufacturability of components and
    assemblies.
  • Calculates labor hour
    and learning curve projections for new manufacturing programs.
  • Oversees creation and
    maintenance of Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) to break engineering
    product structure into logical manufacturing units and sequence to enable
    MRP order releasing, scheduling, and purchasing activities.
  • Authors and maintains
    shop floor technical work instructions.
  • Participates in Root
    Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to troubleshoot and prevent
    production defects.
  • Ensures
    manufacturing processes and procedures comply with regulatory and
    contractual obligations.



Job Requirements:
Qualifications
 
  • Experience in
    shipbuilding, marine small craft, aluminum and steel welding, or
    construction of large fabricated assemblies is desired.
  • Preferred years of
    experience per level:
    • Manufacturing Engineer:
      2-6 years
    • Sr Manufacturing
      Engineer: 6-10 years.
    • Note: Level will be
      determined based on relevant experience, scope of role, reporting
      structure and management’s discretion
  • Experience with
    Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
    software and Solidworks or other 3D CAD programs is desired.
  • Must possess effective
    written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a
    collaborative team environment. 
  • Applicants are expected
    to have the ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide
    range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Must be willing to work
    alternate shift schedules as need (this could include weekends or nights)
 
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
    required.  Preferred degrees are Manufacturing Engineering,
    Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or
    Marine Engineering.
