Manufacturing Engineer

Morson are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer  (Plant & Equipment) for a leading defence manufacturers. 

This position will be based at Glascoed, South Wales.  Initially for 12 months, the role will likely be long-term.

Pay rate:

36.95 per hour
 

ROLE OVERVIEW 

Responsible to the Lead Plant & Equipment Engineer for the management & organisation of the site manufacturing plant and equipment investment for the Project requirements, including the development, maintenance and delivery of legally compliant business cases pertaining to site plant and equipment.
 

• Including but not limited to the preparation and control/issue of technical requirements specifications, scopes of work, evaluation of tender returns and contract placements for outsourced works.
• Generation and evaluation of work packet related Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Permits to Work, Contractor Competency Assessment and Work Control, Competency skill matrix maintenance and personnel development, COSHH Hazard & Risk Assessments.
• The Maintenance, improvement and replacement of site plant and equipment through the engagement of in-house teams and third-party contractors, inclusive of investment case preparations, justifications, contract placement, execution action planning and physical works execution.

Experience required:

• Minimum HNC / HND in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
• Good background in process engineering and process optimisation with knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques.
• A good understanding of project/risk management and the ability to use associated tools and techniques.
• Significant experience in carrying out Risk Assessments of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Proven track record of leading and/or managing process development projects.
