Manufacturing Engineer
Rates: PAYE: 26.79ph + holiday pay Umbrella: 36ph
Location: Stevenage
Type: 12-month contract with scope for extension
Pattern: 37 hours per week, full-time onsite requirement, early finish on Fridays
Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer looking for your next opportunity? We are currently recruiting a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our defence manufacturing client in Stevenage. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the products are built efficiently and within budget. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-project manufacturing environment, contributing to cutting-edge projects in the defence sector.
Responsibilities:

Develop, compile, and update Manufacturing Instructions.

Design, commission, and prove associated tooling.

Support industrial validation processes, including FMEA and FAI.

Identify and resolve technical issues arising during manufacturing.

Implement route card changes due to rework activities.

Manage Configuration Control by integrating Design Modifications into Manufacturing Instructions.

Provide support for the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.
Skills & Experience Required:

Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and Level 3 ONC) OR HNC or equivalent with relevant engineering experience.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering discipline.

Ability to interpret Design Drawings to create Manufacturing Build Instructions.

Experience in Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System-level builds.

Knowledge of small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems assembly.

Strong team player with the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative environment.

Understanding of customer requirements and the ability to respond to them.

Familiarity with company processes and procedures.

Excellent communication skills at all levels within the organisation.
