Rates: PAYE: 26.79ph + holiday pay Umbrella: 36ph
Location: Stevenage
Type: 12-month contract with scope for extension
Pattern: 37 hours per week, full-time onsite requirement, early finish on Fridays

Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer looking for your next opportunity? We are currently recruiting a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our defence manufacturing client in Stevenage. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the products are built efficiently and within budget. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-project manufacturing environment, contributing to cutting-edge projects in the defence sector.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, compile, and update Manufacturing Instructions.

  • Design, commission, and prove associated tooling.

  • Support industrial validation processes, including FMEA and FAI.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues arising during manufacturing.

  • Implement route card changes due to rework activities.

  • Manage Configuration Control by integrating Design Modifications into Manufacturing Instructions.

  • Provide support for the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and Level 3 ONC) OR HNC or equivalent with relevant engineering experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering discipline.

  • Ability to interpret Design Drawings to create Manufacturing Build Instructions.

  • Experience in Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System-level builds.

  • Knowledge of small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems assembly.

  • Strong team player with the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative environment.

  • Understanding of customer requirements and the ability to respond to them.

  • Familiarity with company processes and procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels within the organisation.

Additional Information:

Due to this role being in the defence sector, factors such as nationality may affect eligibility. The role requires security clearance and is subject to ITAR restrictions.
