OneSat Digital Payload Software End to End Engineer (M/F)

Job Description:

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Digital Payload Software End to End Engineer (f/m) to join our Digital Payload Center of Competence of Space System Engineering Organisation based in Toulouse, France.

You will be join the transnational entity (France, Germany and UK) in charge of the Payload Processing encompassing.

You will be part of the team leading on-board digital payload products engineering.

You will contribute to the delivery of architecture and specifications to digital payload software development and validation teams.

• Digital Payload Software Architecture &  Requirement Definition:
  • Define E2E system requirements and assess the system performance,
  • Ensure end customer requirements are anticipated and captured within products specifications,
  • Identify clear interfaces in and outside the digital payload software for the architecture needs: anticipates & requests inputs to counterparts
• Digital Payload Software Requirement Delivery:
  • Deliver E2E system design and specifications on time and on quality to:
    • On board digital payload software
    • Test means
    • Assembly, Integration, Test 
    • Operational Products (simulator, database, Flight Operational Procedures..)
    • Functional Validation Teams
  • Ensures coherence of the overall digital payload products architecture within Program environment all along Satellite life cycle phases : Development - Assembly, Integration, Test - In Orbit Test- In flight maintenance
• Digital Payload Software Validation Strategy:
  • Lead non-recurrent and non-regression validation strategy, verify and approve digital payload software products validation

• Change Management: 
  • Analyse and implement Engineering Change Request vs specifications
• Support the Digital Payload Software Manager for system cost assessment
• Answers technical points on digital payload functioning from end customers, proposal teams, payload operation team, module nterface  teams (avionics, ground segment, AIT, validation, E2E system...)
• Reports to Digital Payload Software Manager on program line and to Head Of Digital payload Processing Delivery on engineering line

Your profile:

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• 10-years’ experience in aero connectivity systems activities and good knowledge in satellite systems 
• Ability to understand and drive the various aspects of managing a customer-oriented program in complex environment (technology, partnerships, customers)
• Good technical knowledge (Satcom systems, network, interfaces, security, etc.) and ability to synthesize information
• Strong capability in communication and stakeholder management.
• Autonomous, pro-active spirit, pragmatic mindset with Problem Solving skills
• Team player, Customer focused, multi-cultural awareness
• Adaptable to a fast, dynamic and changing environment
• Ability to work remotely in a multicultural environment 
• Fluency in English (French would be a plus)

This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

The Job is based in France, Toulouse. It requires travels in UK.
