BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, math, engineering or scientific discipline
- 2+ years of professional experience with mechanical/electromechanical hardware design and analysis
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong first-principles understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with electromechanical design, prototyping, testing, and/or precision mechanical assembly
- Experience in the use of hand calculations, finite element analyses (FEA), and computer-aided design software (CAD) in component design.
- Solid understanding and application of GD&T
- Basic domain knowledge of power component design fundamentals (e.g. motors, inverters, batteries, solar, or energy storage systems)
- Exposure to high volume production designs with a focus on design for manufacturability
- Excellent communicator with the ability to work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, managers, and suppliers
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to travel as needed to Starbase launch facility – Brownsville, TX
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Power Component Engineer/Level I: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00/per year
Power Component Engineer/Level II: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
