We are seeking an experienced Cyber Software Engineer (Principal Cyber Software Engineer or Sr. Principal Cyber Software Engineer) to join our dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems support team in San Antonio, TX.
**Please be aware that this position will be contingent upon capturing program award, obtaining customer funding, and holding final clearances prior to start date.
This requisition may be filled as a Principal Cyber Software Engineer or Senior Principal Cyber Software Engineer
What you’ll get to do:

Provide mentorship and offer guidance and technical support to junior team members to ensure professional development and growth.

Design, develop, document, test and debug AI software systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions, meet software standards, and meet performance requirements.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Cyber Software Engineer
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, Master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
A current/active DoD Top Secret clearance.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance is required.
Strong knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and data science tools.
Proven experience in leading AI/ML teams and implementing successful AI/ML solutions.
Experience with C/C++, Python, Java, or other programming language(s), with a focus on frontend and backend development
Hands-on experience building large-scale AI/ML models and workflows.
Demonstrated success leading teams and/or organizations to achieve a common goal.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of experience or a PhD with 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
A current/active DoD Top Secret clearance.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance is required.
Strong knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and data science tools.
Proven experience in leading AI/ML teams and implementing successful AI/ML solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
One or more industry standard AI/ML certification(s) (e.g. CAIC, AiE, etc.)
Familiarity with AI DevOps practices, including MLOps, and CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML.
Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their AI/ML offerings.
Experience presenting complex topics to executives and senior leaders.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap, aligning AI goals with business objectives.
Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900
Salary Range 2: $133,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
