Job Description:
As an aerospace engineer, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. Youll develop complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems. Your technical duties involve the design and development, analysis, and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities: 

  • Experience with various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies
  • Experience with aircraft performance and flight characteristic testing
  • Ability to prepare complex and professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports in order to demonstrate compliance to system requirements
  • Ability to obtain FAA 2nd class medical
  • Experience performing certification testing for various regulatory organizations (i.e. FAA, DoD)

Must-haves:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Thorough understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Demonstrated experience planning, conducting and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Flight Analyst DER/UM credentials
  • Experience testing to 14 CFR part 23 and/or 25 subpart B regulations
  • Experience with turboprop or turbojet aircraft ground and flight testing
  • Graduate of recognized test pilot or test engineering curriculum (ie, USAF TPS, NTPS, Naval TPS, etc)

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $165,010.21 - $226,889.04. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
