Job Description:

As an Engineer within the Shock and Dynamics department, you will ensure structures and equipment are verified against naval shock requirements. You will set requirements for sub systems to ensure overall boat requirements are met. You will manage sub-system maturity in relation to naval shock and will provide design guidance to both internal and external stakeholders at design reviews. You will also support the development of junior engineers within the team.

Typical duties include (but are not limited to): (suggested 5-10 bullets/statements, indicative of the role at this level)
Set sub-system requirements to meet whole boat naval shock requirements
Manage verification and validation (V&V) evidence to ensure sub-systems meet shock requirements
Developing design justification documentation
Undertake structural assessments of structures and equipment subjected to naval shock load cases
Provide design guidance at design reviews with respect to naval shock load cases
Undertake peer review checking activities and develop junior engineers

Understanding of material strength properties and limits (elastic and plastic properties)
Awareness of setting functional requirements and managing V&V evidence
Mechanical Engineering Degree (or STEM degree)
