As a Principal R&D Engineer you will design and deliver large, complex portions of the technologies that power our solutions and products. You will build a proven record developing technologies and will build deep technical skills. Work in an agile environment and solve complex problems with speed and creativity.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technicalleadership and guidance in the design, development, and testing of aninnovative new navigation system fusing conventional and alternative sensors
- Mentor and guide ateam of R&D engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
- Drive innovation byidentifying and implementing cutting-edge technologies
- Lead the ideation,conceptualization, prototyping, and development of the navigation system
- Collaborate withinternal and external partners to leverage collective expertise and resources
- Ensure adherence toindustry standards, regulatory requirements, and Honeywells quality and safetyprotocols
- Evaluate emergingtechnologies for their applicability to current and future projects
- Support the transferof technology from R&D to manufacturing or production teams
- Identify and assesstechnical and project-related risks

The annual base salary range for this position is $172,000- $217,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. YOU MUST HAVE- 6+ years of experienceleading research and development projects within a technology or manufacturingenvironment
- Strong background indeveloping navigation systems for defense or commercial applications
- Technical expertise ininertial and GPS systems
- Experience in thedesign and development of Kalman Filters
- Proven track record oftechnical leadership and project management
WE VALUE- Bachelors degree orAdvanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or another related field
- Solid understanding ofsystems engineering and software development best practices, design patterns,and architecture principles
- Knowledge andexperience with alternative navigation concepts such as magnetometers,vision-based systems, and LEO systems
- Background workingwith regulated and safety-critical systems
- Knowledge of industrystandards such as DO-178 & DO-254
- Experience with ModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE) and MOSA (Modular Open Systems Approach)
