We have an excellent opportunity in our Military System Engineering, Survivability Discipline Group. We are looking for a research engineer to be based in East Hartford, CT.

The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects in the electromagnetic characterization of materials used in current and next generation propulsion systems. The material characterization team is responsible for performing measurements and analysis of materials running the full gamut of the engine life cycle, from the design phase, to manufacturing and with fielded systems.
Hardware and software support of Radio Frequency (RF) Systems. These systems could include material measurements or system level measurements.
You would be advancing the state of the art in electromagnetics.
Participate in test series to gather data, review data for completeness, and perform post test data analysis to support current and future propulsion system.
Participate on multifunctional teams to define, understand and characterize survivability critical materials, components and techniques.
Growth available in areas to implement statistical methods and uncertainty analysis into analysis, test and manufacturing.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, and 8+ years of engineering experience, or a Masters degree in engineering and minimum 5+ years’ experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Travel 10.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Understanding of physics based modeling, computation analysis and statistical processing a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 tools
Knowledge of the electromagnetics
Advanced degree in a related field

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
