Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal/ Sr. Principal Engineer NDT to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans Mission Assurance organization working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.

International travel required (Up to 80) depending on fleet ops tempo. Primary focus is to perform in-field Non-destructive Inspection of aircraft. Responsible for the inspection composite aerospace components, and other energetic and non-energetic articles. This position is responsible for developing and implementing unique nondestructive inspection techniques, methods, and procedures. Works with design, project and quality engineers through the development process to select and implement the best NDT method to ensure product quality at lowest cost.

Principal NDT Engineer Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years experience, with 5 plus years as a Ultrasonic Level III or High school Diploma with 9 years experience with 5 years as a Ultrasonic Level III

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Active DoD Clearance per business requirements AND the ability to obtain Special Program Access

  • Must be able to work any shift

Sr. Principal NDT Engineer Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 9 years experience, with 5 plus years as a Ultrasonic Level III or High school Diploma with 13 years experience with 5 years as a Ultrasonic Level III

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Active DoD Clearance per business requirements AND the ability to obtain Special Program Access

  • Must be able to work any shift

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Phased -Array or MAUS experience

  • Multiple Level III ASNT certification

  • DoD Secret Clearance

  • Special Program Access

Salary Range: $88,600 - $133,000
Salary Range 2: $109,900 - $164,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
