Pratt & Whitney’s Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Engine Center in West Palm Beach is looking for an experienced Process & Methods Engineer to provide support in repair process development, and manufacturing operations support functions as engines are inducted into, and progress through the shop.  The person in this role will ensure a smooth Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) process, while working to meet external and internal customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery timeline commitments.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop operational process plans per requirements in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 using engine maintenance program (EMP), customer specific work scopes (SMI), “As-received” induction results, existing service bulletins and approved deviations.

  • Assist in producing and managing engine teardown plans along with repair and rebuild activities based on in-process conditions experienced.

  • Comply with all government regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, repair station procedures and work instructions including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and International Trade Compliance requirements.

  • Development and validation of optimized disassembly and assembly procedures, tooling, facility equipment and software to improve TAT, reduce labor hours, and improve quality.

  • Identification, evaluation, and implementation of best practices from production, development, and other MRO sites as it pertains to assembly and disassembly of the engine

  • Technical support and troubleshooting of manufacturing and automation equipment used at assembly

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Aviation industry; OR Advanced Degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR High School Diploma and 10 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with gas turbine engines particularly in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, FAA repairmen’s certificate, or equivalent

  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 145 as it pertains to a repair station Quality requirements

  • Manufacturing experience using 5-axis grinding equipment, vertical turning lath, and other machining tools

  • Continuous Improvement experience such as LEAN, CORE, ACE, or Six-Sigma training

  • Experience working with MS Office, SAP ERP, and Solumina G7 MES

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and motivate teams to achieve business goals

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
