About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement specialist to join our SCM team and play a key role in driving business growth and process improvement through data-driven insights.


What does this role look like?



If you are a results-driven professional with a passion for data analysis, supplier management, and process improvement, this could be an exciting and challenging opportunity for you. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including suppliers, engineers, manufacturers, and quality teams. You will be responsible for analyzing complex data, identifying areas for improvement, and developing and implementing strategies to drive strategic supplier management and process optimization.

This role will offer you the following daily challenges:



This job role involves a unique blend of data analysis, supplier management, and process improvement. On a daily basis, you will analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance, procurement process efficiency, and COPP reduction. You will also work closely with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and alignment and develop strategies to improve supplier performance through harmonized performance metrics and regular business reviews. You will also identify and implement cost reduction initiatives to minimize COPP, such as value engineering (i.e. parts selection) and design for manufacturability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute strategies to improve supplier performance, including harmonizing performance metrics, and conducting regular business reviews.

  • Identify and mitigate supplier-related risks, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory non-compliance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance supplier performance.

  • Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance, procurement process efficiency, and COPP reduction.

  • Develop and maintain automated metrics based on data models, using data lakes & working repositories, and business intelligence, working closely with stakeholders across LMC Operations.

  • Improve data alignment for metrics sustainment and maintenance and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives to minimize COPP, such as value engineering (i.e. parts selection), design for manufacturability and total cost of ownership analysis.



Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Rocket City USA, one of the greatest places to work: Huntsville, AL , and be expected to work in the office as needed
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in data analytics, Supply Chain Management (i.e… Procurement, Subcontract Administration, Subcontract Management, Negotiation, and/or Category Management), with a focus on supplier performance management and cost reduction.

• Demonstrated experience analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills:
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

• Industry experience: Experience in Procurement processes, Materials Planning, Inventory Management, and Process Optimization.

• Implemented data-driven strategies to visualize performance trends and forecast potential disruptions.

• Collaborated with vendors and internal stakeholders to enhance key performance metrics for Supply chain automation and continuous improvement, Supplier Capacity Analysis, Supplier surveillance Questionnaires and surveys.

• Programming & Data Analysis: Materials Planning, Inventory Management, Forecasting, Demand Planning, Vendor Management

• Software/Tools experience: SQL, Tableau, SAP/P2P, MS Teams, SharePoint administration, MS Forms/InfoPath, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Excel Macro development

• Metrics & Data Analysis: Materials Planning, Inventory Management, Forecasting, Demand Planning, Vendor Management

• You bring positivity and enthusiasm to every project you touch. In addition to the work, you love being part of a team and working collaboratively through the process.

• Demonstrated exceptional strategic communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as program executives, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
