Plan, direct and conduct post production helicopter ground and flight test. Direct and conduct test data acquisition and data reduction. Perform weight and balance and performance analyses in support of commercial and government programs. Apply aircraft and engine math models, performance codes, and various analytical methods to verify aircraft and systems performance requirements.
1. Flight Operations Coordinator: 60%
•Plan, schedule, and conduct ground and flight tests according to company policy and engineering procedures. Determine test parameters and required test equipment. Ensure proper calibration and installation of required test equipment. Prepare statements of work to comply with project requirements for flight-testing that demonstrate compliance with FAA certification
•Operate and maintain AHI ground and airborne data acquisition systems
•Maintain and specify hardware and software updates required for data acquisition and data analysis
•Conduct helicopter performance and weight and balance analyses in support of commercial and government proposals and related studies. Perform analyses of competitive systems for use in comparison studies and management decision documents
•Perform analysis of internal/external noise, temperature, and vibration data
•Perform functional check of aircraft and systems to assure readiness for flight, and review production test flight plans as to test requirements, objectives, and data requirements. Familiarize the test team with new or modified systems, instrumentation, or other equipment installed on the aircraft
•Ensure compliance with FAA and other appropriate regulations
2. Documentations and reports: 30%
•Prepare ground/flight test plans and test reports
•Prepare required pre-flight and post-flight documentation and reports, and document- significant occurrences
3. Administrative tasks: 10%
•Coordinate flight test activities with Production Manager, Quality Manager and Flight Line Supervisor
•Maintain Qualification / Currency as AHI flight crew member
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
•BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering with some course work in Aerospace Engineering.
•Graduate from a recognized test pilot school (TB1 or TB2).
•An MS degree in Engineering is desirable.
•Three years' experience in a field related to Aerospace engineering.
•Requires knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, and aerodynamics and flight characteristics of aircraft, FAA regulations, and other fields relating to conduct of flight test programs.
•Ability to gain and hold a Class 2 FAA medical.
•A pilot rating is desirable.

•Employee should possess good organizational skills, analytical skills and editing abilities. Employee is required to be able to change priorities quickly as needed.

•Requires ability to solve complex problems involving multiple internal (AHI / AH Group) and external customers. Requires the ability make independent decisions which may require balancing potentially conflicting needs (e.g., customer demands, safety, and regulatory requirements). Requires ability to corroborate with other key stakeholders to develop innovative solutions, often in real-time, to support AHI operational requirements.

•Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings, on a daily basis.
•Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms, on a daily basis.
•Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications, on a daily basis.
•Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment including radios, on a daily basis.
•Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs at least once a month.
•Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs, at least once a month.
•Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools at least once a month.
•Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer, on a daily basis.
•Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

•Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces, on a daily basis.
•Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
