SCRUM MASTER (AGILE)

Responsibilities

• Be a servant leader by understanding and effectively leading the planning and execution of the flow of value. That is preparing team for PI planning events and support teams during increment execution.
• Organize, Plan and facilitate scrum ceremonies and practices with the team – Backlog refinement, Sprint planning, daily stand-ups/team syncs, sprint reviews, retrospectives.
• Coach teams in execution metrics - (e.g. burn down, velocity).
• Coach Product owner and technical lead in maximizing product/platform value. hierarchy of work, backlog management, estimation, etc..
• Drive continuous improvement, lead change, transparency, be the champion information radiator.
• Facilitate internal and external communication. Represent teams and Managers in various meetings supporting the ART including portfolio sync, Scrum Master Community of practice, etc.,

Basic Skills

• Scrum Master certification -SAFe preferred.
• Strong knowledge of agile processes and a lean mindset.
• At least 3 Years of experience serving as a servant leader for teams of highly technical Engineers.
• Ability to motivate team members through mentoring, coaching, and encouraging them to become self-organized.
• Effective communicator who encourages open but respectful communication.
• At least 3 Years of experience in leading team in planning and execution of flow of value.
• Collaboration skills – ability to partner with the technical leaders, Product Owner, other teams in ART, Managers, other stakeholders, and leadership.
• Facilitation skills - Comfortable facilitating groups and presenting in front of teams, leadership, and stakeholders to communicate release-related information and addressing problems.
• Problem Solving – Work with the team in the identification of risks and potential blockers that may impact team delivery. Manage risks and work with the team and other stakeholders in the removal of blockers.

• Critical Thinking – A great Scrum Master has the ability to think on their feet. They can quickly analyze a situation and organize teams around a solution. They do not have to define the solution but have the savvy to guide the conversation.

• Technology proficiency & Engineering practices – have an understanding of the technology and engineering practices being utilized by your team and the overall organization (e.g. DevOps such as CI/CD pipeline, multi-level automated testing, Data and Analytics tools).
