Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Technical Engineering team as a Project Engineer – Level I who will be responsible to prepare the technical evaluation for all Cabin / Systems / Avionics / IFE / Connectivity specifications. Provide engineering support for Cabin / Systems / IFE / Connectivity retrofit upgrade Program. Ensure that equipment selected on Qatar Airways fleet is in compliance of all technical and regulatory requirements and is a cost-effective solution.

Operational

• Prepare technical comparative evaluation reports with a high degree of accuracy for proposals received against RFPs, RFTs or RFQs and prepare detailed evaluation reports accordingly. Assist Senior Program Officer (SPO) for preparing commercial evaluation report by defining the parameters required to be captured for effectively capturing the life cycle cost of associated products.
• Prepare detailed Product Specification Document (PSD), work scope, requirements and specifications in detail and with technical accuracy under the guidelines provided by the Project Manager.
• Coordinate and communicate internally within Technical Department with relevant sections (Engineering, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Supply chain, Centralized Planning) regarding all aircraft project issues related to cabin, systems, avionics, connectivity and IFE System to ensure accomplishment actions are completed on time.
• Provide inputs to Project Manager for enhancing PSD based on the BFE/SFE product development and project management experience, record it as part of project closure documents and incorporate it in the upcoming PSDs.
• Review Recommended Spare Part List (RSPL) related to aircraft cabin, systems, avionics, connectivity and IFE System to ensure adequate spares are available at entry into service.
• First checking point for all drawings, data and other relevant documents to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and all options and all Part Numbers selected by Qatar Airways through standard options/MC/SCN/MSCN/CR are appropriately reflected in project drawings and highlight all discrepancy to internal / external stakeholders for timely correction.
• Prepare Project Meetings minutes for implementation and assignment of actions to various departments for timely execution of Entry into Service activities for Head of Version aircraft.
• Timely gather existing fleet configuration data for same / similar options while processing SCSA and provide all details to the Project Manager for further review, processing and approval. Communicate with relevant aircraft manufacturer, OEM, internal /external stakeholders for gathering all data required for solid technical recommendations.
• Actively engage with originating departments on option selections/MC/SCN/MSCN/CR, record and archive their inputs and reason for acceptance / rejection of SCSA for future reference accordingly and attach all relevant correspondence and data with SCSA form.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelors level
• Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Aeronautical or equivalent discipline, or ICAO Type II License B1/B2.
• Minimum 4 years relevant experience as Development Engineer in Airline/MRO Engineering or Aircraft Program/Projects department or as Design Engineer in Design Organization or OEM/vendor, or Minimum 5 years relevant experience as ICAO Type II License B1/B2 Engineer in Airline Technical Department.
• Good knowledge of applicable new aircraft and BFE Product technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Good knowledge of OEM aircraft interface specifications for cabin and BFE products including aircraft system and equipment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Microsoft Office and MS Project Proficient

Preferred

• Experience on Cabin/Systems/Avionics/IFE/Connectivity projects, layout changes, various cabin modifications, equipment selection (galleys, lavatories, soft furnishing), seat selection and development programs.
• Self-motivated and proactive.
• Must be a team player and able to work across the Company Spectrum.
• Familiar with QCAA, EASA, FAA & ICAO regulations
• Must be able to perform to high standards within an environment of constantly varying workload and achieve targets.
