The salary range for this position is $25.00 to $29.00 per hour
Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for supporting and monitoring quality activities to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and customer requirements. This role-plays a critical part in implementing Kaizen principles and continuous improvement to drive quality excellence. The QA Engineer must have a deep understanding of customer specifications and be able to fully interpret and implement their requirements in manufacturing and processing operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and document inspection criteria and standards to maintain product integrity
- Conduct inspections and effectively liaise with the operations team, customers, and corporate quality team to ensure compliance.
- Address non-conforming products, including disposition reviews (DRs), rework instructions, and Kaizen-driven corrective actions.
- Respond to Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), ensuring compliance with quality policies, standards, and best practices.
- Strive for a zero-defect approach in all quality activities.
- Perform contract reviews, purchase order (PO) reviews, and certification reviews to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Generate, revise, and review processing production plans using the Visual Shop internal software system; develop frozen plans as required.
- Conduct internal audits (6S, QMS, process audits, etc.) to uphold quality standards.
- Serve as the Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Focal Lead, ensuring best practices to maintain contamination-free products.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Chemistry required.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) through the Society of Quality Engineers (ASQ) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Proficiency in gage usage, calipers, blueprints, micrometers, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
- Strong knowledge of customer specifications and requirements to ensure compliance.
- Expertise in Kaizen principles and continuous improvement methodologies to drive process enhancements.
- Excellent communication and liaison skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality standards in production
