Description:Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that build circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro- assemblies. The facility currently has over 1200 employees and provides products to six Missiles and Fire Control sites. Ocala specializes in both low volume high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing.

Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

The Quality Engineer position reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.

Essential Functions of a Quality Engineer include:

•Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to moderately complex.
•Attends and leads program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments.
•Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment , identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
•Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.
•Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues.
•Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
•Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.

Basic Qualifications:
-degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.

-Considered career, or journey, level.
Desired Skills:
-Quality Engineering experience

-CQE (certified quality engineer), CCA (circuit card assembly), or electronics experience

-Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action

-Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques

-Green Belt Certification

-J-Std-001/IPC-A-610 familiarization

-Strong written and oral communication skills

-Ability to work independently and as a team player

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
