A great opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Design Quality Engineer to work on a long term contract with our aerospace client based in Filton.
The successful applicant will be working within the Quality Engineering Airframe Wing organisation, primarily in the Programme perimeter for Quality Performance activities, and will report to the Head of Quality Engineering.
You will be interfacing with Engineering teams and suppliers from Europe, America and Asia.
The role involves the resolution of quality issues and continuous improvement
Assurance of the quality of the Engineering design.
Problem solving.
FMEA
improvements to increase process performance and product adherence to
standards, reliability of processes, and repeatability of processes at initial design
phase, before any process changes are made and continuously through the life
of a product.
The successful applicant will be responsible for Quality Performance
activities, such as:
Drive and deliver improvement projects in order to support the
achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets
Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem solving
activities
Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans in order to
support the improvement of engineering performance and its associated
deliverables
Identify risks/issues relating to the quality of the engineering deliverable
and facilitate, support and drive standardised mitigation plans in order to
prevent/mitigate risk linked to the product and its related processes
Essential Skills
Relevant Quality and/or Engineering Experience
Project Management knowledge
Knowledge of 3D design
Understanding of Failure modes effects analysis
Understanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 9S, 8D etc.)
