An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an R&D Sustainability Growth Vector Scientist within Honeywell UOPs R&D Exploratory Research group located in Des Plaines, IL. This position provides a unique opportunity to accelerate the launch of new growth vectors and strategic adjacencies in the field of sustainable fuels, sustainable chemicals, and carbon dioxide management (CCUS). The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and adaptability to investigate new areas through lab-based proof of principle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Conduct benchtop chemical synthesis and experimentation.
•Establish and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
•Prepare and submit samples for analysis.
•Organize and manage electronic and hard copies of laboratory notebooks and research reports.
•Draft technical reports.
•Summarize and communicate results effectively, both verbally and in writing, to senior staff and project teams.
•Ensure clear and concise communication.

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•1+ years of experience with laboratory-based research beyond university course-work

•Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemistry
•Ability to work independently
•Willingness to learn new skills

•Problem solving strategies
•Some experience in industrial laboratory setting
•Some experience in chemical techniques including performing experiments, basic data analysis, and catalyst preparation
