An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Advanced R&D Engineer Scientist - Catalyst Coated Membrane Specialist within Green H2 Growth Vector group located in Des Plaines, IL. You will be responsible for the catalyst and polymer synthesis, catalyst ink preparation, membrane fabrication, catalyst-coated membrane fabrication for the development of Honeywell UOPs breakthrough Catalyst Coated Membrane products for water electrolysis applications for green H2 production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Synthesize new catalysts for water electrolysis to produce green H2.
•Synthesize new polymers for water electrolysis to produce green H2.
•Prepare new catalyst inks for the development of catalyst coated membrane for water electrolysis to produce green H2.
•Fabricate membranes and catalyst coated membranes using different coating machines.
•Work-up, interpret, and present detailed results to the team.
•Establish new membrane and catalyst coated membrane capabilities as needed.
•Operate, maintain, and trouble-shoot lab instruments.
•Carry out required experiments and consistently verify the link between the planned experiment and the project targets.
•Evaluate, interpret, and present detailed and accurate data to other researchers. Summarize presentation notes and ascertain action plans.
•Collaborate and communicate important project results to multi-functional program teams.
•Ensure accurate alignment of goals of the project with business objectives and deliverables of the project that timely meet project targets to commercialization. 
•Participate in all departmental safety and HOS activities and conduct all work with a high degree of attention to safety.
•Utilize six-sigma tools as necessary to implement project work.

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

WE VALUE:
•B.S. or B.E. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Catalysis, Membrane, Polymer, Electrochemistry, or Materials Science & Engineering. 
•1+ years of industry experience preferred.
•Proficient with a well-rounded background in chemical engineering and chemistry 
•Hands-on experience with membrane fabrication and testing 
•Hands-on experience with catalyst and/or polymer synthesis and characterization
•Knowledge and experience in membrane-based water electrolysis  
•Knowledge and experience in design of experiment and data interpretation/statistics
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - oral and written.
•Excellent problem-solving capabilities
•Strong demonstration of teamwork abilities
