Description:Lockheed Martin is commercializing a new class of flow battery technology for low-cost, grid-scale energy storage, and seeks a Research Engineer to provide support for the flow battery development program. The work responsibilities for this position include: (i) execution of prototype battery tests to support the development and verification of design requirements for electrochemical power stacks and power stack components; (ii) development and documentation of standard test methods and operating procedures; (iii) working with senior technical staff to design experiments to support root cause and corrective action investigations; (iv) independently executing laboratory experiments to support end of life characterization of power stack components, component verification, and root cause corrective action investigations; (v) writing technical reports and giving technical presentations to colleagues within the organization to communicate findings.
Basic Qualifications:

1.) A Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with professional experience.

2.) Experience using python, matlab, excel or equivalent to analyze technical data.

2.) Experience building and testing electrochemical devices.

3.) Experience analyzing large datasets using python

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
