The employee will need to work independently as well as in a team to develop and deliver solutions in systems technologies including modeling, simulation, optimization and data analytics to develop technology differentiation for GE products and services.
- Develop quantitative simulation and hybrid models of complex physical-business systems, calculating the key performance metrics [throughput, inventory, operating expense, fulfillment, risk & return, etc.
- Develop integrated discrete-event and agent-based simulations that call other decision support or sub-system models such as optimizers, engineering design tools, handling time constants from sub-second to lifecycle. And develop these integrated simulations to be called by financial value optimizers
- Contribute to development and writing of internal and external proposals.
- Patenting your inventions and develop a record of publication via conferences and peer reviewed journals
- Research and develop tools, frameworks and processes to improve analytical methods, performance, scale and sophistication of algorithms, simulations and systems applications
- Code ancillary support (Java, C++, Python, R, MATLAB) for the integration of simulations/analytics/optimization models into middleware, data bases and decision systems
- Clearly and professionally communicate progress and results of your research with the team, business leaders, customers and technology providers
- Develop, verify, and validate analytics to address customer needs and opportunities.
