In this role, you will report to the DCSSA Program Director and serve as a hands-on leader, and will lead a team responsible for the design, development, and integration of complex systems. This role involves overseeing engineering projects, ensuring compliance with Customer requirements and needs and industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. This role will work in close collaboration with the DCSSA Chief Engineer and the AWS Technical Director.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing a team of engineers in the development of complex systems.
• Overseeing project timelines, budgets, risks, opportunities and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
• Engagement with the Customer to ensure achievement of objectives.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and alignment of engineering efforts.
• Position located at Garden Island NSW, Sydney NSW or Mawson Lakes SA.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• Education Bachelors or Masters in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software or similar).
• Experience 15+ years in the Defence Industry.
• Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams
• Security Clearance NV1.
• Certifications Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or RPEQ, INCOSE CSEP, or Defence engineering accreditations.

Desired Qualifications

• Defence Industry Experience Working with CASG, NSSG, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, or Navantia.
