The role collaborates with Programs, Business Development and Engineering teams to deliver and support custom logic, FPGA and other programmable devices related design, verification, validation, and modification tasks that meet functional, performance, quality and reliability, and customer requirements.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and verify FPGA and CPLD based components for avionics power conversion applications
  • Responsible for VHDL design using appropriate tools to perform design and simulation of the FPGA
  • Responsible for requirements development and management in DOORs along with the preparation of appropriate DO-254 certification artifacts
  • Create and perform Verification using VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog
  • Create hardware architecture definition
  • Design for safety, testability, and manufacturability
  • Support board level FPGA integration
  • Present FPGA for FAA SOI Audits per DO-254

Required Qualifications

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.  GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university/college in Electrical or Computer Engineering

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experiences in design

Desired Characteristics

  • Extensive experience FPGA-based designs
  • Experience in a safety-critical market, preferably Aerospace industry
  • Experience in development to MIL-STDs, DO-160 and DO-254, Standards for Avionics
  • Programmable device design experience using VHDL, Verilog or System Verilog
  • Digital Signal Processing design and verification experience
  • Experience with model based design and Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGA design tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

The salary range for this position is 131,600 - 219,400 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.
