The Mechanical Engineering department leads in the mechanical hardware design, development, and production of weapons systems. We use state-of-the-art tools, processes, and technology, with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines, including product engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials engineering, analysis and test, rapid hardware development/builds and configuration and data management documentation.
The Rapid Hardware Solutions department is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, located in Tewksbury, MA.
This position is On-site.
What You Will Do
Interpret manufacturing requirements, develop and maintain Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), and document manufacturing practices
Make tooling selections based on technical data package requirements and create process plans
Provide real-time technical support to assembly shop technicians
Disposition non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
Collaborate with operators and design engineering on technical issues relating to the production manufacturing process
Drive efficiency through continuous process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect), using Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles and data driven decision making
Maintain work cell layouts
What You Will Learn
Raytheon products in a low volume, high mix fabrication environment
How to use area equipment and job specific tools
Raytheon command media (policies and procedures)
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant professional experience in lean manufacturing or related field.
Experience with drawings, schematic diagrams, and parts lists, to include cable fabrication, branched harnesses, and/or chassis wiring.
Experience with Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T)
Experience using PRISM (SAP) MRP software and/or shop floor data management tools
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with automated tooling, machinery, and programming
A continuous improvement mindset to enhance manufacturing methods through process modernization
Understanding of statistical analysis techniques
6Sigma training
Experience working alongside union represented work force

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
