How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

  • Will be responsible for providing software engineering including the architecture, development, operations, and enhancements being built for Delta’s cloud journey.
  • Will work to apply best practices and DevSecOps (development, security, and operations) to automate the integration of security at every phase of the software development lifecycle, from initial design through integration, testing, deployment, and software delivery.
  • Will apply computer engineering knowledge and technological expertise to design data, system, and component architectures.
  • Will be charged with creating and improving a build-to-manage environment, using Cloud Native architectures, NodeJS, Python, Java, APIs and Microservices development in a high-volume environment.
  • In this professional engineering role with Delta, will apply knowledge of automated test frameworks, secure coding standards, and DevOps models as well as with source control, build tools, GIT, and Agile methodologies to develop, test, and operate these systems within Delta’s cloud environment.
  • Will apply knowledge of AWS services including Cloud Formation Templates, API Gateway, Lambda, AWS Config
  • Will apply knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, containerization and orchestration
  • Will apply knowledge of Gitlab CI
  • Will apply knowledge of Linux and bash scripting
  • In the performance of this work, will apply infrastructure as code configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.), Continuous integration (“CI”) and continuous delivery (“CD”) tools (Tekton, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, etc.), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Cloudwatch, SumoLogic, Splunk, New Relic, etc.).
  • Will perform related professional software engineering responsibilities as are required.
  • Will apply excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Will serve as a mentor to junior developers on the team
  • Will be a self-learner, with the ability to pick up new technologies and provide tangible results.
  • Will perform related professional duties as required. Role offers a hybrid work schedule, with 50 time in office each week and up to 50 telecommuting from home office in Georgia.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Requires Bachelor’s degree/foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field and five years of work experience, to include:
  • 5 years of hands-on development experience in NodeJS, Python, or Java; APIs; and Microservices development in a high-volume environment (including 3 years in large corporate enterprise-level environment)
  • 2 years of experience developing POCs
  • 2 years of experience in CICD, TDD, and DevOps
  • 2 years of experience with build-to-manage and DevOps models
  • 2 years of experience with source control, build tools and GIT (github, Bitbucket, or similar)
  • 2 years of experience with Agile methodologies
  • 2 years of experience in working with 12-factor methodology and understanding its benefits, with ability to demonstrate appropriate patterns to other team members;
  • 2 years of experience with Cloud Native architectures.
  • Experience may be gained concurrently.
