The opportunity

As one of the countrys leading and preferred defence partners, BDA develops and sustains leading edge technologies for some of Australias largest and most complex defence projects.

BDA is undergoing significant growth and is looking for passionate Senior Systems Engineers in multiple locations with experience in System Safety Engineering to join our team. We are seeking technical professionals interested in working collaboratively across an interdisciplinary and multinational team on cutting edge systems, and developing exciting new technologies, to support and grow Australias defence capability.

In this role, you will perform systems engineering activities to plan, design, develop and verify systems as they relate to System Safety. You will have responsibility to support projects in understanding requirements and design implications pertaining to safety and human factors and identify potential and realised performance and safety considerations. Leveraging your experience, you will provide guidance and mentorship in the team, and lead specific scopes of work in safety and human factors engineering for projects.

You will also have the opportunity to actively promote the benefit of safety and human factors across the organisation and contribute to the development and growth of these disciplines within BDA.

To be successful you will have:

  • Excellent communication skills that enable you to influence outcomes in a team environment

  • A continuous improvement mindset

  • Tertiary degree qualification in an engineering or. related technical discipline

  • Experience in Systems Safety Engineering in a complex project environment would also be considered highly desirable.
