Lockheed Martin is looking for a dynamic Systems Engineer Sr. to join the Satellite Engineering, Operations & Sustainment Support (SEOSS) Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) team in Sunnyvale, California.

As a Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the following:
• Participate in technical development projects and hardware refresh efforts
• Serving as the primary point of contact for issue resolution
• Performing Backup/Restore/Disaster Recovery, Hardware/System Monitoring, and System Maintenance
• Maintaining user and service accounts
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with Linux and Windows
• Experience with networking technology
• Ability to work onsite in a closed laboratory environment
• Capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to cover off-hours shift work as required to support mission critical systems and user needs (approx. 2-3x/month)
• Ability to obtain Security+ CE Certification within six months
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience working with telemetry or telemetry processing systems
• Design or test experience with analog, digital, and power signals
• Satellite communications and secure comms experience
• Experience with electrical design or integration functions
• Experience with technical project management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
• Individual must possess good communication skills and demonstrated leadership skills.
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
• Demonstrated experience as both a technical leader and individual contributor for systems engineering concepts and processes
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment
• Space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering
• Bachelors degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related subject area, or equivalent experience
• Active DoD Secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
