The Senior Technical Engineer I reports to the Powerplant Engineering Manager and is responsible for the creation, maintenance, distribution and storage of PPE technical documents necessary for gas turbine engine overhauls performed on customer aircraft fleets. He/she will work with Fleet Technical Managers to provide technical documentation, which optimizes management of Fleet Management Program (FMP) maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contracts thru minimization of expenditures and improving engine maintenance interval/reliability.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for managing shop visits of engines that are under FMP, Fixed Price Agreement, and Maintenance Cost Guarantees to ensure cost targets are met while also maintaining safety of flight
  • Build relationships with Resident Center Managers and Local PPEs located all over the world to discuss status of all Work In Process (WIP) shop visits within scope of responsibility
  • Manage routine Full Interval Visits (FIV) and work with regional team on special visits due to fleet-wide or individual engine events
  • Participate in and support engine shop visit cost discussions of fleet by providing inputs to both Fleet Managers and Engine Services Finance at P&W
  • Work with outsourcing teams to manage workscopes for fleet

Requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in relevant field
  • 5-12+ years of related engineering experience
  • Engine part knowledge or shop experience preferred
  • Sound understanding of concepts, methods and procedures within discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to drive tasks to completion
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
  • Eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship
