Service Engineer

Our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation partner with a range of global customers, working closely with major airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar.

What will I be doing?

As Service Engineer, you will be carrying out complex repairs and inspections to aircraft landing gear at our customers facilities. Disassembly and inspection of landing gear, with application of remedial action to enable final assembly, test and certification, working in accordance with OEM instructions as required. Communicating directly to customers managing their expectations to provide excellent support.

Onsite support as required, working as part of a workshop team carrying out the recertification of landing gears including disassembly, inspection, local repairs, bushing, assembly & test.

This is a customer facing role acting with professionalism at all times as company representative.

Job Requirements:

•\tEngineering Apprenticeship, plus 5 years' experience in an aviation environment or equivalent.
•\tPrevious experience of landing gear maintenance.
•\tAbility to interpret Component Maintenance Manuals, Technical Drawings & instructions.
•\tHigh level of dexterity with attention for detail
•\tAbility to use a variety of hand tools including precision measuring equipment.
•\tUnderstanding of electrical circuits.
•\tAble to travel at short notice to worldwide destinations, with no restrictions.
•\tHuman Factors, risk management, working at height experience.
•\tUK driving license
•\tHave or willing to gain forklift truck & MEWP licences, experience and confidence to work at heights.
•\tExcellent problem solver with root cause analysis skills.
•\tEfficient computer skills.
•\tArticulate with excellent communication skills at all levels
•\tAbility to make decisions under pressure
•\tGood mathematical skills
•\tExcellent team working ethics
•\tSelf-managing and reliable with high levels of flexibility and integrity
•\tAn understanding of QMS, Lean Sigma disciplines and 5s principles
•\tRole requires frequent travel and applicants must be deemed medically fit to travel
