Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to take on the role as the principle Simulation Integrator for the Shared Simulation Software (SSS) team which is part of the Simulation & System Test (SST) organization responsible for developing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems.

This will require Technical expertise in complex simulation products with the knowledge to tackle problems across the multiple product lines in multiple venues for various customers.

You should bring to the table your simulation software engineering experience and your understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts used to develop and integrate software for products primarily founded on the reuse of existing software, and supporting Digital Transformation.

The SSS team performs software development and integration for a distributed, real-time simulation system that includes a mix of aircraft software and simulation software, and development and maintenance of component and sensor models as part of the system.

The main focus of the principle software integrator will be to analyze and implement solutions to complex integration issues that are required in order for the SSS team to meet their contractual milestones. The principle software integrator will coordinate with the project leads, technical SMEs and fellows on a frequent basis to identify key technical problems that this engineer will need to address.

You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/Technical Field

Software Development Experience using C++

Experience with Real-time simulation software development & integration
Desired Skills:
Experience developing and integrating avionics software on Linux and Real-Time Operating Systems

Computer Engineering expertise in optimizing system performance, debugging complex software systems

Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) / Object-Oriented Design (OOD) techniques

Computer Engineering expertise in optimizing system performance, debugging complex software systems

Experience with F35 simulation products to include VSim, JADE and LIDS

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Experience mentoring, training, and developing other software engineers

Strong work ethic and self-motivation

Active F-35 program access

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
