Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support the Shared Simulation Software (SSS) team as part of the Simulation & System Test (SST) organization, which is responsible for developing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems.

You should bring to the table your simulation software engineering experience and your understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts used to develop and integrate software for products primarily founded on the reuse of existing software, and supporting Digital Transformation. The technical emphasis of this position focuses on integration and troubleshooting of SSS software products in hardware-in-the-loop and man-in-the-loop lab environments. Tasks include software development and integration for a distributed, real-time simulation system that includes a mix of aircraft and simulation software and hardware. Successful candidates will use their software engineering and integration experience to integrate and test SSS software in different environments and venues supporting program customers.

You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering / Technical Field (STEM)

  • Software Development Experience using C++

  • Experience developing software on Linux
    Desired Skills:
  • Experience with real-time software
    development & integration

  • Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems

  • Experience with automated testing

  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and tools, such as Jenkins, Git, and Bitbucket

  • Experience performing software integration in hardware-in-the-loop and/or man-in-the-loop simulation environments

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools, such as VersionOne and Jira

  • An extreme interest in anything airborne, such
    as fighter aircraft and airplanes

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

  • Active F-35 program access

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.     Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
