Use your advanced knowledge of the embedded firmware development, processes, and tools to help Honeywell Building Technologies deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the worlds most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywells next generation of building control products by designing, testing and/or validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in to bring industry leading solutions to the market.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

•  Participate in Ideation and development of firmware architecture and roadmap.

•  Full Software Product Design Lifecycle (Requirements, design, architecture, implementation, integration, testing, release, and continuous feedback)

•  Identify opportunities, propose, and drive technical process and product improvements by applying advanced embedded knowledge and principles.

•  Embedded systems development in C/C++, and scripting languages

•  Linux and Real-time embedded software development proficiency

•  Debug with lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, JTAG, etcu2026)

•  Networking, communications, data management, and algorithm development

•  Verification, Validation, test plan creation, and peer reviews

•  Guide engineers, technicians, and associates to ensure project and product compliance.

•  Present project status and report on technical issues to leadership and external customers

•  Suggest enhancements to advance projects.

 

 

MUST HAVE:  

•  Bachelors decree in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics

•  Minimum 10 years design engineering experience in a high volume, commercial equipment environment.

•  Technical leadership roles as part of an advanced embedded design team.

WE VALUE:  

•  High speed communications design (Ethernet, Serial, Wireless technologies)

•  Capability to complete demanding assignments by applying advanced engineering methods and tools

•  Strong communication and collaborative skills 

•  Experience working with diverse teams in a global collaboration environment

•  Strong technical leadership skills

•  Familiarity working with Agile tools and processes.

•  Success in working in a matrix environment (Program Management, Quality, Sourcing, Marketing and Manufacturing)

•  Strong problem-solving skills including ability to proactively anticipate requirements and identify/mitigate potential issues before they occur.

•  Experience with developing commercial building HVAC control and thermostat products.
