An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Sr. HSE Engineer in the Honeywell Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Smart Energy and Thermal Solutions (SETS) business unit located in Nebraska City, Nebraska.  SETS is a business unit under Honeywells strategic business group Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT).  In this exciting opportunity, you will utilize your experience in HSE to significantly impact and support the ISC team.  You will provide HSE guidance, technical support, and communication of HSE requirements by establishing strong working relationships with site supervision and employees. 

This position will allow you to showcase your HSE regulatory knowledge and experience to improve overall site HSE maturity, with a focus on Environmental programs and processes and will allow you to demonstrate your ability to positively impact HSE culture change through sustained continuous improvements.  This role will report directly to the HPS Smart Energy Sr. HSE Manager - Americas, with a matrix reporting relationship to the site HSE Manager. 

Position is in Nebraska City, Nebraska, USA. Relocation will be provided for the right candidate. 

Key Responsibilities:

•Evaluate workplace hazards and recommend control measures to reduce the risks
•Support site employees at different levels including factory, engineering, etc. to reduce incidents.
•Deploy HSE management systems, maintain regulatory compliance, implement HSE procedures and and assist with the improvement of the site HSE culture.
•Review and communicate HSE procedures/requirements (both Honeywell and regulatory requirements) to employees and managers at all levels while considering diversity and multicultural nature of the company.
•Responsible for monitoring, documenting, and reporting HSE metrics, corrective actions, incidents, regulatory inspections, injury/illness reduction, audit results, etc.
•Support Management of Change (MOC), HSE review of capital projects, and participation in hazard assessments.
•Provide technical support to the Leadership Team and plant personnel in the day-to-day operations.
•Communicate with employees on HSE issues and/or oversee the training/communication plans.
•Conduct HSE assessment (Maturity Planning) activities per Corporate and division (PMT) requirements.
•Accountable for supporting and completing departmental goals.
•Develop training programs, deliver presentations and training to site personnel and managers. 
•Lead /participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis as necessary for any environmental, safety, or other incident(s) and ensure that all required reports and corrective actions are implemented in a timely and accurate manner.
•Establish and maintain HSE documentation and record keeping.
•Ensure compliance with local, PMT and Corporate HSE regulations and requirements.
•Actively participate in daily meetings, prepare, and present HSE reports and communicate changes in a timely manner. Provide inputs for integrating HSE into corporate management systems.
•Act as a liaison between the site and global HPS ISC HSE organization by attending periodic global meetings, providing reports, and presenting the site at global HSE meetings.  
•Participate in HSE aspects associated with site continuous improvement activities.
•Support on-site wastewater treatment plant operations.


MUST HAVE

•3+ years of experience in a full time HSE role in an industrial setting.

WE VALUE

•Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related fields.•Lean/Six Sigma Greenbelt certified or willing to become certified in first 12 months.
•Team oriented and effective public speaking skills. 
•Effective communications and influence all levels of employees and leadership.
•Knowledge of Dangerous Goods, First Aid practices, environmental and industrial hygiene practices. 
•Experience participating in audits and implementing HSE management systems.
•Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations
•Significant knowledge of Environmental regulations (EPA, DEQ, NDEQ, etc.)
•NDEE Industrial Wastewater Level 2 certification 
•Effectively demonstrates ability to deliver on complex situations or problems without guidance or supervision, in a timely manner.
•Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or other comparable HSE certification.
•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from site Leadership, HSE peers, regulatory agencies, clients, customers and employees.
•Ability to critically evaluate results, make recommendations and reports.
•Use effective coaching techniques to develop a culture of employee engagement.
•Drives a continuous improvement culture by instilling Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology.
•Leads a visually managed work environment.
