STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in heavy-duty trucks for a key position with TICO Manufacturing in Ridgeland, South Carolina. You will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for next-generation trucks, improving performance and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves technical leadership, engineering analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize vehicle performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Truck Design & Development: Lead the design of chassis, suspension, and drivetrain systems for heavy-duty trucks.
- Engineering Analysis & Simulation: Use CAD and simulation tools to evaluate vehicle performance and durability.
- Compliance & Validation: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and oversee prototype testing.
- Leadership: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements for enhanced vehicle reliability and performance.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck or commercial vehicle engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (ANSYS, Adams).
- Knowledge of chassis, suspension, and powertrain systems.
- Strong understanding of FMVSS, EPA, and NHTSA standards.
Working Conditions
This role is based in an office but may require visits to manufacturing facilities. PPE is mandatory on production floors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, and crouching.
