Job OverviewThe Senior Project Engineer at AEVEX is responsible for overseeing and managing the technical execution of engineering projects from conception to completion. They lead a team of engineers and technicians in the development of hardware solutions and integrated systems for DoD customers in a rapid development environment.
Essential Functions• Responsible for leading a team of engineers and contractors to ensure a total technical solution is within scope, budget and being delivered to the customer on time• Accountable for managing all aspects of product design, production, testing and support.• Provides Interface between Program Management, Design and Production team• Responsible for development, implementation, and management of AS9100 design and development processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.• Accountable for managing and documenting system and subsystem level requirements and interfaces in coordination with suppliers and design team. Responsible for verification of the as designed solution to those requirements.• Responsible for managing system and subsystem interfaces and translation of those requirements across a multi-disciplinary team which they manage.• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written• Excellent ability to read and understand technical requirements within solicitations and translate them into project plans and work breakdown structures• Strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meeting project/company objectives.• Focus on teamwork and puts the success of the team above ones own interests.
Education / Certifications• Bachelor of Science in any of the following fields: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience• Masters Degree in Engineering preferred• Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Experience• 10 years of relevant experience leading teams in the development of complex electro-mechanical and software systems.• Developing and tailoring product development and engineering processes based on program cost, schedule, and risk tolerance• Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards in a design and manufacturing environment• Experienced with JIRA, Microsoft Project and Agile methodologies• Fluent with Microsoft Office software
