We are seeking highly experienced engineering professionals with previous Systems Engineering hands on and leadership experience across the entire program life cycle within military aircraft / avionics architectures and associated off-board support systems. Come join our team in developing best-in-class avionics solutions for our Rotary Mission Systems business area in Owego, New York.
This role will require System Architecture support with direct knowledge of internal avionics/mission computing hardware allocation/processing for the FARA MS Architecture Team.
In this position you will:
• Provide heavy System Architecture shaping in relation to avionics/mission computing and processing.
• Close coordination with other IPTs/disciplines to ensure all subsystems are accounted for in the architecture.
• Drive platform consistency/compatibility (hardware interfaces, video, standards).
• Resource management (performance, TPMs, growth) planning and sustainment.

Owego, New York is located about 200 miles northwest of New York City and about 75 miles south of Syracuse, New York, sits just north of the border with Pennsylvania and is part of whats known as the Southern Tier section of New York State. The region is home to Binghamton University, Ithaca College and Cornell University. Great metropolitan weekend getaways with friends are just a few hours away and include areas such as Niagara Falls, NYC, & Philadelphia. The Adirondacks, Catskills, Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes are also areas to explore and host activities including: sailing, boating, kayaking, jet skiing, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, fishing, skiing, snow shoeing, concerts, shows and seasonal festivals. The local area and region are also home to several New York state wineries and craft breweries.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret Security clearance
• Systems engineering experience, preferably working military programs across multiple portions of a program life cycle
• Experience with development and successfully delivering products
• Experience decomposing requirements, developing systems engineering work products and integrating systems including sensors, controls, and display systems
• Familiar with common aircraft technologies and interfaces (e.g. sensors, mission systems, software designs, human machine interfaces, Ethernet, 1553)
Desired Skills:
• Mission Computing Hardware experience.
• Technical depth and breadth of integrating complex avionics into platforms.
• Experience applying modern engineering practices for Digital Transformation including Agile, Model Based Engineering (SYSML), and Automation.
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, JIRA, Cameo, and Confluence.
• Familiarity with the Lockheed Martin - Owego Common Product Line (CPL) initiative and process.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $118,100 - $226,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
