Key Responsibilities:

The Sr Support Engineer – IT is an essential position that provides direct localized support for airports in the Latin America / Canada (LATCAN) region, with a presence in Houston. This role enhances response times, optimizes field service delivery, and strengthens parnerships with airport leadership. The Sr Support Engineer – IT focuses on proactive issue resolution, strategic planning and alignment with LATCAN regional regulatory and business needs.

1. Supports regional airports, customer service centers, contact centers, and all other relevant United Airlines facilities. Duties include walkthroughs, Digital Technology (DT) equipment support, preventative maintenance, mobility product support, DT infrastructure support, operational equipment, communication rooms, base location inventory management, and supply storage.

2. Manages day-to-day activities for enterprise-level support for iOS and Android, drives Audio Visual (AV) innovation and standardization across the region, performs CCTV Testing, diagnostics, and repairs of products for the region

4. Attends regional project meetings and provides project tracking and analysis. Supports the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables

5. Coordinates activities with internal/external technology owners & service providers including Network Engineering, WAN Engineering, WiFi Engineering, mobility Engineering

6. Ensures the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) room and Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) conform to established enterprise/industry standards. Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI), Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA), Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) monitor, manage, and maintain (DT) Digital Technology infrastructure and end-user equipment to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelors degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Aptitude for problem-solving, looking beyond the obvious and not stopping at the first answer
  • Strong level of poise in high-pressure environments
  • Active commitment to self-development
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies
  • Mobility IOS/Android, Windows, LAN room and (DT) Digital technology Infrastructure experience (Copper, fiber optic)
  • International Travel required along with after-hours work and weekends support, as needed: Provides on-site support and is on-call 7x24x365, as needed

  • Proficient in Spanish
  • Bachelors degree in IT

The base pay range for this role is $87,780.00 to $119,680.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
