Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Sr. System Engineer

LOCATION: 2702 Love Field Drive Dallas, TX 75207 and Hybrid role, may work from home

DUTIES: IT monitoring and alerting platforms to create functional dashboards to visualization performance and leverage knowledge of application metrics and the platform tools to create smart alerting to ensure continuous awareness of application health for critical operational applications; Monitors platforms; Builds intuitive dashboards and alerting to be used by operational staff; Translates abstract requirements into functional dashboards and instrumentation; Works productively with application teams, operational teams, leadership and the business to elicit requirements to build this operational instrumentation; Mentors other peers and junior team members on how to leverage tools and do the same; Utilizes knowledge of various components of IT infrastructure and technology such as databases, application servers and other components that serve these applications in order to build instrumentation and smart alerting; Utilizes knowledge of the principles of alerting defined in Google SRE (site reliability engineering) and how to build alerting based on those principals; Works with the vendors of these monitoring and alerting tool providers in order to diagnose issues when using these tools to build this instrumentation; and Integrates these instrumentation tools with ITSM (IT Service Management) platforms and leverages APIs (application program interfaces).

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, System Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years performing:

• Monitoring and alerting platforms such as AppDynamics;

• HP monitoring tools such as Sitescope, Omni, OMW, and NNMI;

• Building functional and intuitive dashboards around a variety of applications running in both on-prem and cloud environments;

• Java apps, database and Cloud native technologies; and

• Conducting demos and mentoring application and infrastructure team members .

Hybrid role, may work from home.
