Essential Responsibilities:
Owns quality engineering and automation of end-to-end test scenarios.
Builds automations across the enterprise application to test integrations.
Provides expertise in quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology.
Designs and develops improvements to internal processes and tools.
Works with developers and product owners to create re-usable and maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases.
Creates and follows standard work for self and contributes to team standard work.
Mentors and helps team members.
Makes technology choices at individual level and has ability to analyze impact of same.
Ensures that principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring, and Testing Techniques are embedded in process and that process is effectively measured to capture non-compliance.
Recommends and oversees remedial activities when processes are outside defined control limits.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Test Automation and Test Management OR master’s degree with 3 years of experience Test Automation and Test Management.
Desired Characteristics:
Experience in formal, enterprise software testing.
Ability to write Java code for the purposes of testing solutions (e.g., white-box testing).
Experience with testing web services such as SOAP/REST; Throughput, Performance under Load.
Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems such as Octane, Jira, Green Hopper, Confluence, Rally.
Experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows environments that are on-premises, hosted or cloud/SaaS.
Experience working with virtual machines (VMs).
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends and uses benchmarking data to assess potential areas for innovation or improvement.
Understands and can analyze the impact of technology choices.
Understands and breaks down issues; presents clear solution rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and influence outcomes and ongoing results.
Identifies conflict, resolves or escalates and makes suggestions to course correct.
Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments. Detects and balances different, competing objectives.
