JOB SUMMARY:
This is a summer internship in our engineering department. The intern will be responsible for reviewing future modifications/improvements to existing engineering lab and propose actions to be done to ensure lab is up to standard code requirements for safety. Processes and procedures maybe required to be written to ensure proper training and overall accountability. Required updates/actions will be presented to engineering management with estimated cost for updates.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Look at current lab and review current updates for future.
- Draft details plan for future lab layout along with all safety improvements in place.
- Work directly with all departments that use the lab (ex: Tooling team, Electrical, and R&D) including DFJ safety/facility engineers to ensure a coordinated effort inside the company.
- Write processes and procedures for following proposed safety guidelines.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years engineering school
- Basic Microsoft office knowledge
- Basic knowledge of electrical test equipment
- Basic knowledge of OSHA codes and regulations (ex: 29 CFR 1910)
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred major
