JOB SUMMARY:
This is a summer internship in our manufacturing engineering department. The intern will study the machine processes of detail part creation as well as the supporting activities: material supply chain, load forecasting, quality assurance, etc. The intern will propose processes to allow for agile part manufacturing on multiple machines.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Demonstrate an understanding of the aircraft component production processes for detailed parts.
- Identify parts manufacturing that will require new universal holding fixtures.
- Propose processes to allow for agile manufacturing that are acceptable to quality assurance and supply chain tools and processes.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university seeking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or other engineering related field.
- Must be at least a sophomore status.
- Strong capability to analyze and make synthesis
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft excel, word, power point,
- 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, CATIA V5, or similar)
- Strong communication skills, written and oral and the ability to create and clearly present new ideas or concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or other engineering major preferred
