JOB SUMMARY:
This is a summer internship in our manufacturing engineering department. The intern will study the parts substitution process, understanding certification requirements, quality system requirements, and supply chain constraints. The intern will propose improved industrialization processes that will allow the production facility to manage parts substitutions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Demonstrate an understanding of the aircraft component production processes for detailed parts and assemblies.
- Understand the existing data continuity between design data, industrialization data, procurement forecasting, and production.
- Propose processes to allow for agile parts substitutions that are acceptable to quality assurance and supply chain tools and processes.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university seeking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or other engineering related field.
- Must be at least a sophomore status.
- Strong capability to analyze and make synthesis
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft excel, word, power point,
- 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, CATIA V5, or similar)
- Strong communication skills, written and oral and the ability to create and clearly present new ideas or concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or other engineering major preferred
