Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is currently bidding on a Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) contract and hiring for a Systems Engineer IV. This position supports US Navy Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems engineering, enterprise cybersecurity implementations and operations, advanced technology, and project management services.
This is a full-time position with full benefits.
Place of performance for this position is at one of these Government Sites: Washington DC Navy Yard, Charleston SC, San Diego CA, Norfolk VA or Jacksonville FL.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance.
- Responsible to integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices.
- Manage the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware and web application, including: specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance.
- Provide engineering technical support to the development of new capabilities, development of significant alterations to existing systems, and integration of hardware and software into cutting edge defense and space systems and platforms.
- Review and provide recommended changes to engineering documents including, but not limited to, System Specifications, System Engineering Master Plans, Test and Evaluation Master Plans, etc.
- Review Software and Hardware Requirements Documents, Interface Requirements and Control Documents, and other relevant technical documents to identify technical and programmatic shortfalls and deficiencies and recommend alternatives and trade-offs.
- Conduct and support extensive engineering investigations including root cause analysis.
- Actively participate in program reviews, design reviews, technical exchange meetings, and other meetings
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- 10 years of professional experience in systems engineering
- 10 years of experience with systems engineering and integration principles, including agile development for software intensive systems
- 10 years of experience with DoD acquisition process writing DoD acquisition documentation including systems engineering plans, and Performance Based Specifications
- Solid understanding and application of Systems Engineering principles
- Experience generating Systems Engineering Management Plans
- Proven ability to derive system and subsystem level requirements through decomposition of the customer Capability Production Document
- Proven ability to perform requirements analysis and verify the validity, traceability, and testability of existing requirements
- Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining a Requirements Verification Matrix
- Experience performing functional analysis/allocation
- Significant experience developing system architectures
- Experience generating systems engineering management plan
- Experience developing system and subsystem level requirements through decomposition
- Experience performing requirements analysis
- Experience validating the traceability and testability of existing requirements
- Experience creating requirements verification matrix
- Experience performing functional analysis/allocation
- Experience developing system architecture
- Experience conducting trade studies and analysis for product selection
- Experience generating artifacts for PDRs, SFRs, and CDRs
- Experience conducting trade studies and analysis for product selection
- Experience generating engineering artifacts for project and design reviews, and presenting these during customer meetings
- Strong written, communication, and oral presentation skills
Degree:
- Masters level degree in an Engineering discipline.

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $140,000 to $220,000 (annualized USD) depending on candidate experience. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAGs total compensation package for employees.
