Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
Systems Engineer - Ground Support System (d/f/m)
If you are looking for challenging tasks within a development team and you are interested in systems and software related to military aircrafts, you should apply for a position as Systems Engineer in the engineering department.
We are developing and supporting Ground Support Systems (GSS) for our flying platforms A400M, Eurofighter and Tornado at the Airbus-sites in Manching/Germany and Getafe/Spain.
Our GSS products comprise the generation and evaluation of mission-specific data, provide interfaces to the airborne systems and support the analysis of the mission execution. The key challenge includes the execution of all operational requirements of our diverse customer base while considering the technical capabilities and constraints of our aircrafts.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Analysis of avionics system design/requirements and operational requirements
Following supplied customer requirements for system development
Perform requirements definition, interface definition and system design activities to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Prepare system design documentation, user manuals, training materials and system/subsystem documentation for the customer/end user
Develop executable test plans which address technical specification verification requirements
Generate acceptance documentation, e.g., Acceptance Test Plans, Acceptance Test Procedures, based on system/subsystem designs
Support test’s evaluation of system performance in the lab. Operate the system and test equipment to evaluate functional and performance against requirements
Foster collaboration within our project team and with involved stakeholders - internal and external
Actively support the continuous improvement of our products, projects and processes
Desired skills and qualifications
University Engineering Degree or Master in Electronics, Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of systems/software engineering lifecycle and experience in all phases of it
Working knowledge of one of more of the following specialty areas related to self-defensive systems, radar system and electronic support system.
Knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles and interest in Electronic Warfare Support
Experience with using different test equipment is an advantage (i.e. oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, RF signal generator)
Familiarity with Atlassian software development and collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
Working knowledge with engineering tools such as DOORS
Good command of English, and German is an advantage
Strong team player, independent working method and high quality awareness
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
