Tool Design Engineer II – Take Your Engineering Skills to New Heights!

Location: Savannah, GA
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Schedule: 1st Shift
Pay: $60.42 per hour

As a Tool Design Engineer II, youll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aviation. With minimal supervision, youll design, tolerance, and annotate cutting-edge tooling in a 3D CAD environment, supporting the manufacture of industry-leading aircraft. Key Responsibilities

Tool Design: Independently design, tolerance, and annotate tooling using Catia V5 or Solid Works in a 3D CAD environment.
Collaboration: Work with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to optimize manufacturing procedures.
Concept Presentation: Present design concepts to cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and safety representatives.
Tool Reviews: Review and check designs to ensure they meet specifications, intent, and methods.
Procedure Writing: Develop detailed procedures for tool usage.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience: 18+ months of drafting/design experience in a tool shop or machine shop environment.
Skills:
- Tool Design expertise using Catia V5 or Solid Works.
- Strong CAD/CATIA modeling skills and understanding of GD&T.
- Knowledge of materials, strengths, and heat treatment methods.
- Ability to conceptualize tools for assembly, composites, machines, handling equipment, and scaffolding.

Bonus Points

Experience in Tool Design is highly preferred.

Pay Details: $60.42 per hour
