Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform under cowl cooling and ventilation analysis for family of GE aircraft engines

  • Technical requirements interpretation

  • Communication with internal and external customers and technical experts

  • Testing support and tools validation

  • Technical and program leadership for small task-oriented team

  • Ensure on schedule submission of planned deliverables to external and internal customers

  • Budget and schedule control needed to complete assigned tasks

  • Assure proper documentation (analytical models and reports) of technical data generated to substantiate assigned components/ systems consistent with GE Aerospace engineering policies and procedures

  • Monitor and communicate project status internally and externally for related activities

  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical/ program reviews in person or remotely

  • Share technical knowledge within the group and across the organization

  • Demonstrate proficiency with core technical tools, methods and concepts

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related

  • Understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics, good proven analytical skills

  • Knowledge in the area of jet engine ventilation and cooling, as well as fire prevention

  • Understanding of under cowl analysis techniques and relevant FAA/ EASA regulations

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and VBA programming

  • Experience with 1D tools and CFD analysis using Ansys CFX or Fluent

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to guide and influence others

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on time and within agreed budget

  • Demonstrated teamwork and self-reliance in assigned tasks

  • Problem solving attitude, “can do” approach

  • Excellent communication skills, proficient English (spoken & written)

  • Ability to travel abroad and work with global team members
